Guide Cast?

So we've started recording a podcast. Its a lot of fun to do - not sure how its gonna sound. We have an interview that we want to record and then it'll be edited and hopefully posted to itunes.

Amy says that we will likely need to change blogs to get hosted by itunes. We shall see.

CBC Tour

On November 5th we were taken on a tour of the local CBC station by reporter Peter Cowan. We had an incredible time. Peter explained alot to us about how a radio program is put together. He also coached us a little on how to conduct interviews. We even got the opportunity to interview each other (about guiding of course) while sitting in Cindy Wall's chair (from Labrador Morning). We put on the headsets, just like Cindy and recorded an actual interview. Peter critiqued our techniques. The interviews will be burned to CDs for us to listen to (and laugh at) later.

Year End Celebrations 2007

A little late with this I realize, but here are some photos from the distict's year end/advancement celebrations. We had 3 girls who are moving on from Rangers to Link members. Ruth, Vanessa and Chantelle. I think that all girls will be doing their first year university here in Goose Bay, so I'm sure they will maintain close ties to our unit. Also Abby has left town too (tear). So we will be a few fewer members this year, since no Pathfinders advanced.

Enrolled! .... finally

We had our enrollment this Thursday. It went really well. We enrolled two girls, Abby and Allison. It was a very nice ceremony and we had cake! Actually we had alot of food...too much food. But that seems to be the norm at just about every guiding event we've taken part in.

Here are the two enrollees...Abby and Allison with our District Commissioner Maxine. (Maxine is in the middle) Aren't they all purty?

Oh, Heather showed up too!! It was so great to see her again.

We finalized some plans for the amazing race. Its gonna be great.

More Camp Pics

Finally some outdoor pics. First we have Lucy, making a snow angel. The next picture is of us all, trying our hand at the 'snowball' toss. The last one is of Chantelle and our new friend 'Lulu'

All in all camp was amazing. I will never, never forget the following

This camp was so much fun. Seriously, it should be a crime to laugh so much!

We didn't really stick to our original plan of reality TV, but camp did have an air of reality TV about it. We did do 'Hell's Kitchen' Check it out....

Oh yeah, nothing like blind folded baking!!!

And check out these beauties!!!!!!!!!!! Our version of 'Project Runway'!!!

Yes, those are tablecloths!!! Cool or wha?

We even spent some time outside, since we had unseasonbly warm weather.
